"In our business, we have individual departmental Risk Registers, which used to be held in Excel. Over time, multiple users accessing and amending the various spreadsheets led to a number of different formats being used across the business. Risk Wizard changed this for us. The system provides a wide range of standard fields, together with the ability to customise many of these for our own use. We are now able to capture a wider range of information which is of much better quality than before, and all risk and control data is now held in a consistent format. Previously, it was time consuming to provide any cross-functional information, but Risk Wizard enabled us to design and set up our own standard reports. These can be run in a matter of seconds by users, meaning that everyone now has much better risk management information at their fingertips.
Prior to the implementation of Risk Wizard, the information we held about our control environment was limited. We had no means, other than through manual oversight, of ensuring that controls were assessed and regularly reviewed. This proved particularly difficult to address due to control owners working in different locations. Risk Wizard has enabled us to make significant improvements in this area. The system is flexible enough to allow us to set our own assessment criteria, and being cloud based, can be accessed easily by users in any location. Notifications are emailed to control owners automatically when the review is next due, and any changes are reflected immediately. Thanks to Risk Wizard our ongoing control self-assessment process is now highly efficient and effective."
